3 reasons why Orlando City can win the MLS Cup

• Orlando sit top of the Eastern Conference after 7 games played

• The Lions have lost just once all season

• Star player Kaka has made a return to fitness to give Orlando a boost

Orlando City SC are still MLS novices but they are showing real potential to become the MLS Cup winners this season. The Lions have started their second season as a soccer club really well, so here’s three reasons why they could be the champions this year.

1. They are playing excellent football and look like one of the best:

In their opening 7 games The Lions have taken 18 points from a possible 21 and their strong defensive record has helped them seal victories. They have only scored 10 goals but have conceded five all season showing how hard teams are finding to take points off the leaders.

2. The star man Kaka is back to fitness and scoring goals

Orlando’s most recognisable talent is Brazilian magician Kaka. The midfielder had been out with injury but returned on Saturday and was back in the goals as his side secured 3 points against Colorado Rapids. With arguably their best player back Orlando have a strong chance of staying at the top of the Eastern Conference. Kaka is a player who knows what it’s like to win trophies and his experience will prove valuable should The Lions make the play offs.

3. Home is where the heart is

Since The Lions moved into their new home the Orlando City Soccer Stadium they have yet to drop any points. They have been formidable on home soil and if they can continue to make their new ground a fortress then they will continue to pick up valuable points. The 25,000 capacity crowd have settled into their new stadiums and make a great noise making it difficult for visiting teams to play their natural game.
